missing MAX's soft movement of units and screen scrolling (migrated from trac, id 574 )

Movement of units and map scrolling is clunky compared to the original MAX. In the original game, units moved by progressively accelerating, up to a certain speed, then quickly deaccelerating when reaching the destination. This made movement of units very smooth. Map scrolling is quite jumpy too, compared to the original. This might perhaps be hard to implement, but if solved, would make MAXR feel much, much more like the original.
